Department of Information Systems Sponsors IEEE Baltimore Technical Colloquium and Professional Development Conference

The Department of Information Systems at UMBC is proud to sponsor the Second IEEE Baltimore Technical Colloquium and Professional Development Conference, which will be held on campus at UMBC on November 15, 2025.

This year’s conference theme is “Innovation and Leadership in Emerging Technologies”, highlighting groundbreaking research and advancements being pursued in the greater Baltimore area.

The event will feature specialized tracks in:

  • Engineering in Medicine and Biology
  • Engineering in Technology and Research
  • Engineering Applications
  • Professional Development

Topics will include cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, data analytics, advanced wireless, information technology, quantum computing, computational medicine, semiconductors, renewable energy, and more.

A unique Professional Development track will also focus on enhancing “power skills” (formerly known as soft skills), which are increasingly vital in today’s fast-paced and hybrid workplace.

Call for Papers: Abstract submissions are due August 31, 2025. Submit your abstracts.

Students, professionals, and practitioners at any career level are encouraged to submit their work or email questions to baltimore-conf@ieee.org.
